Sketchbook
Hello and welcome to Fauna Flora's Sketchbook where I take your wildlife and pet portrait commissions and use my treasured coloured pencils to create your bespoke, hand drawn artwork that will last a lifetime.
About the Artist
Hi! I'm Maxine, owner of Fauna Flora's Sketchbook.
I am a UK, Surrey based artist specialising in pet portraits and wildlife art using coloured pencil.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been captivated by our natural world.
As a child, I loved everything! Insects, plants, rodents, amphibians - everything. I would spend hours upon hours drawing from treasured natural history books or things I could see in the garden. I can't remember an age where I wasn't either drawing or exploring the nature around me.
These two passions have grown with me and I'm lucky enough now to combine the two as a job!
When I'm not in my Surrey based studio, you'll find me in the woods with my family, feet in the grass, studying and enjoying the UK fauna, flora and fungi all around me.
From the tiniest butterfly egg to the grandest stag, each builds the inspiration behind every piece that I create as does the ever growing crises that so many of our wildlife faces.
Bringing awareness to these often critical challenges faced by our natural world is something I feel very strongly about. Each art piece is drawn with 100% cotton, museum grade paper and professional - grade coloured pencils and designed to highlight the struggles our natural world faces and is always followed with small steps that we can take to help and hopefully reverse these impacts.
Aside from my wildlife art, I produce pet portrait commissions. Our pets are such a special and integral part of our family and I absolutely love bringing your pet photos to life on paper.
Whatever piece of art it is that you have in mind I look forward to discussing it and bringing it to life! Please feel free to use the contact box below to ask any questions.
Thank you for reading!

"The memorial portrait Maxine made of my cat blew me away. I chose Maxine after seeing some of her previous portraits but I was still so taken aback by his likeliness, especially his eyes. I didn't want the portrait on white paper and Maxine was very accommodating and made sure everything I wanted was perfect. I can't put into words what it means to have his portrait and how it turned out"
